A very powerful diesel locomotive – a Beacon 653-07 – is being used by Haeger & Schmidt Logistics (HSL) for intermodal transport. The Beacon 653-07 is a magnet for train spotters who love taking photos of it. A remarkable feature is the 2,420 kW (3,290 PS) powerful engine. In addition, the locomotive is equipped with a huge diesel tank with a capacity of 6,550 litres, allowing it to complete the whole Andernach–Antwerp–Andernach journey without filling up again. The traction engine, operated by service provider Captrain, runs twice a week in each direction. Professional tip for train spotters: Departure dates are Tuesdays and Thursdays, starting from Antwerp (quay 1742 + 1700) and Wednesdays and Fridays from Andernach.
