HSL has successfully put together a new “Future Team 2.0” to contribute to the company’s forward strategy. The eight young professionals between 26 and 32 years old replace the previous circle, which has meanwhile taken over management activities.

Since February 2020, the new team has defined several fields of action, such as internal communication, digitalisation and progress as well as human resources management and corporate development. In regular virtual meetings, the participants evaluate the best ideas and proposals together with the management in order to then implement them in the daily operations of the company.

One of the most advanced projects is the redesign of the intranet. Behind this is the desire for colleagues to be able to network and exchange information better among themselves, regardless of which terminal device they are connected to. “The industrial employees in particular tend to get information via tablets or smartphones,” knows Fabien Schumacher, who is the third generation of HSL employees, and adds, “with the tool we want to facilitate collegial coordination, create more transparency and thus also facilitate cross-project work.

The HSL management wants to use the potential and innovative power of the young workforce. “We have an ear to the market and an ear to the young generation,” says HSL Managing Director Per Nyström. “Their ideas can make a crucial contribution to helping us understand how our customers’ needs change and keep us relevant to them. Internally, the Future Team input allows us to develop more purposefully as an attractive employer. “
